Warner Bros Drops Sopranos Prequel Footage Dune Still Set For Hbo Max

Included in the Warner Bros. 2021 trailer is footage from David Chase’s highly anticipated “Sopranos” prequel movie “The Many Saints of Newark,” which the studio recently delayed from March to September 24, 2021. The film stars Alessandro Nivola as Dickie Moltisanti, father of Christopher Moltisanti (Michael Imperioli) from the original HBO series, but it’s young Tony Soprano who is front and center in the trailer footage (see image above). Young Tony is played by Michael Gandolfini, son of late Tony Soprano actor James Gandolfini....

We Can Be Heroes Review Robert Rodriguez S Avengers For Little Kids

A zany, imaginative, and extremely kid-oriented “Avengers” riff that combines major stars with Snapchat-level special effects in order to lend a live-action Saturday morning cartoon vibe to a story about seizing your own destiny, “We Can Be Heroes” is the ultimate Troublemaker movie (a feeling enhanced by the fact that it’s also a self-contained sequel to the 2005 flop “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl,” itself a tonal spin-off of the “Spy Kids” franchise that made Rodriguez’ studio into a legitimate force)....

Weaker Eternals Box Office Just One Issue In Likely November Slowdown

The short answer: No. November will likely be flat, or close. While October 2021 box office represented 79 percent of 2019 (the last normal year), November looks unlikely to even hit 70 percent ($671 million). October was a step in the right direction, but the top players’ uneven performances mutes its positives. Only “Venom” (now at $190 million) can claim to have performed at a pre-Covid level. “Halloween Kills,” “The Addams Family 2,” and “Dune” all grossed over $40 million last month, and presumably concurrent home play reduced their theatrical performances....

What Do We See When We Look At The Sky Review A Georgian Fairy Tale

Movies can truly be anything, and the beauty of Alexandre Koberidze’s lyrical and ineffably romantic “What Do We See When We Look at the Sky?” is how it reminds us of that — time and again — during almost every one of its meandering 150 minutes. Nevertheless, a crucial scene towards the beginning stands out for the way it epitomizes that magic. A soccer player named Giorgi (Giorgi Ambroladze) and a knowledgeable young pharmacist named Lisa (Ani Karseladze) have just enjoyed an extremely Lanthimos-esque meet-cute along the banks of the Rioni River in the ancient Georgian city of Kutaisi; we’ve only seen them interact from the knees down or through nighttime long shots lensed from so far away that these characters have been reduced to specks of light in the darkness, but the film’s affectless narrator (voiced by Koberidze himself) assures us of their shared affections....

Where To Watch Ticket To Paradise On Vod Crawdads On Netflix

Theatrical success also was key for Netflix’s new #1. “Where the Crawdads Sing.” Sony’s very successful adaptation of Delia Owens’ best seller opened mid-July with a domestic $90 million total. Theaters can’t live by comic book and other franchises alone; they need a resurgence of standalone successes in other genres. “Ticket” and “Crawdads” are also the kinds of projects that top streamers want to corral, with limited or no theatrical footprint....

Why Charlie Collier Is The Star Roku Needs In Its President

Those who know Collier see it a little differently. “People are going to want to talk to Roku now because they want to talk to Charlie,” said Michael Kassan, a media and advertising consultant and Medialink principal. “Charlie is a star.” Collier currently leads Fox’s broadcast network, its reality programming, and its studios. He does not oversee the company’s news and sports segments, and streaming service Tubi is still technically run on a day-to-day basis by founder Farhad Massoudi....

Why John Wick Prequel The Continental Jumped From Starz To Peacock

Hirsh said that the show “really doesn’t fit our two core demos,” which include African American audiences enamored with the “Power” universe and women who have helped make “Outlander” a hit. And though he said “The Continental” could have been “a great success” for Starz, Lionsgate is in the midst of trying to separate from Starz and prove that both sides of the business can get the best bang for their buck....

Willem Dafoe On How The Pandemic Impacted His Work Work With Ferrara

Now, Lionsgate has released the movie in theaters and VOD, marking one of the bigger U.S. companies to get behind the legendary New York filmmaker in some time. That’s an especially notable outcome because “Siberia” is one of the most ambitious and enigmatic movies in a filmmaking career that stretches back to the early ‘70s. The movie stars Dafoe as grief-stricken man who tends to a bar at a desolate outpost where he’s surrounding by non-English speakers and strange events....

Back To The Outback Embracing The Beauty Of Our Differences

First-time feature directors Clare Knight and Harry Cripps previously worked together on “Larrikins,” the Outback-themed feature from DreamWorks Animation that was scuttled in the wake of the studio’s acquisition by NBCUniversal in 2016. Cripps was set to co-direct the film alongside “Puss in Boots” director Chris Miller, while Knight, a DWA veteran who had worked on the “Kung Fu Panda” trilogy, was to serve as editor. “’Larrikins’ had focused on the cute animals, and so I didn’t want to go back down that same road,” Cripps said....

While Michael B. Jordan’s eponymous character has always been the protagonist of the “Creed” franchise, Sylvester Stallone inevitably cast a large shadow over him in the first two films.
